Comerío
La Plata, the longest river in Puerto Rico, runs right through town.

This gracious town is surrounded by Aguas Buenas, Barranquitas, Cidra and Naranjito. As you would expect, this deep into the Cordillera Central, you will find a number of natural attractions and sights. To start with, the Río La Plata (the longest river in Puerto Rico) runs right through town. It is just a short walk from the plaza.

This three-day national troubadour competition selects the best Puerto Rican troubadour. Typical music, local and international artists, handicraft fair, güiro and cuatro contests and local food. The main non-music event is the Desfiles de Estampas Típicas where rustic floats demonstrate life in the Puerto Rican countryside.

This cave system was a sacred place used by the ancient Indians for religious ceremonies. They left uncountable numbers of prints of owls, heads, monkeys and turtles. The archaeological value of this place is considered to be the highest in the Caribbean.

These dams are the oldest in Puerto Rico, built in 1906 and 1913. By 1933 they provided half of the country's electricity. Impressive vistas and a tunnel that goes from one end of the dam to the other. Natural beauty and great fishing.

The office of Culture and Tourism is located in the Casa de la Cultura Cacique Comerío, historic home of the administrator for the tobacco growers. Also called Cultural Center Cirilo W. Meijes, it has a gallery area and activity hall. Permanent exhibition of ancient Indian bones found in the Carlos Bonet Municipal Park in 1987.
