In Jayuya you feel the presence of the Taíno Indians, especially during the Jayuya Indian Festival. The festival features the culture and traditions of the Island's original natives, including their music, food and games.
Nearby you will find the Casa Canales historic home and the Cemí Museum Monument featuring Taíno archeological artifacts and a photographic exhibition of petroglyphs that were found around the Island.

Festival Nacional Indígena de Jayuya, /Frazier Nivens
Cultural center with an archaeological exhibit of the Taíno Indians. Close to the plaza, this area includes a sculpture by Tomás Batista and the tomb of a Taíno.
Opened in 1989, the museum focuses on archaeological artifacts of the Taíno Indians. It is named after the Cemí, a small triangular amulet sacred to the Taínos.
This town is known as the "Pueblo del Tomate" (town of the tomatoes). This event is a celebration of the tomatoes and includes music, games and food kiosks.
Features the culture and traditions of the Taíno Indians, including their music, food, and games. More than 100 artisans exhibit and sell their work.
