The Lajas valley is famous for its major local crop, the big juicy-headed pineapple, the piña cabezona. If you see a pineapple stand, you might want to get some of your own. It is also known as “The Bishop City,” since the former bishop of the Catholic church in Puerto Rico was born and raised in Lajas.

Founded in 1946 this investigative and developmental station studies to help develop and improve the efficiency of agriculture in the Lajas Valley area.
This agricultural fair offers exhibits and sales of plants, animals, farm equipment and products. The festivities include music, food, a rodeo and a paso fino horse competition.
This religious procession along the streets and beach in honor of the fishermen's patron saint, St. Peter. Boats are decorated with lively flowers from the Flamboyán trees.
