Florida June-2008, By:Travel and Sports Staff
Florida
Florida is a good jumping-off point if you wish to visit Lago Dos Bocas or Lago Caonillas.

In Florida, on the plaza, are the Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes and the City Hall. To get around town, there is trolley service. Of particular interest in Florida are the stone carvings available from local artisans.

There are a number of annual festivals, and this is an easy town to reach from San Juan. The town is in the karst region of Puerto Rico and is also known as La Tierra del Río Encantado (the land of the Enchanted River) because of the Río Encantado, which runs from Ciales to Florida. The river's course is almost entirely underground through a series of caves that is internationally known to cavers.

>How to go:
From Manatí take Rt 642; from Ciales take Rt 146 to Rt 140.
